Reset my password

If you find you forgot your password and can't login to Lagunita, there are two ways to reset your password. The first is if you're logged in to your account. The second is if you can't access your account.

Logged In

If you are signed in to your Lagunita account and want to change your password, first, click the arrow by your username on the top right of the page and select Account.

Click on the "Reset Your Password" link and you will see a confirmation message that an email has been sent.

When you receive the password reset email, click on the link in the email and you'll be prompted to enter a new password. If you do not see a password reset email, it could mean one of the following:

  1. Your account was never created. Try creating an account with the email address again. Keep in mind that all usernames must be unique so if you see an error regarding your preferred username being in use, you will need to think of a different username. 
  2. The email you entered when creating your account had a typo.
  3. The account is not yet activated. 

Logged Out

If you're logged out, you can reset their password from the login screen at lagunita.stanford.edu/login. Click on the "Forgot password?" link and enter your email address in the window that pops up.

An email with a password reset link will be sent to you. When you receive it, click on the link in the email and you'll be prompted to enter a new password. 

If you don't see this email in your inbox, check your spam, junk and trash folders. If you do not see a password reset email, it could mean one of the following:

  1. Your account was never created. Try creating an account with the email address again. Keep in mind that all usernames must be unique so if you see an error regarding your preferred username being in use, you will need to think of a different username. 
  2. The email you entered when creating your account had a typo.
  3. The account is not yet activated. 

To ensure messages from lagunita.stanford.edu reach your inbox every time, add noreply@lagunita.stanford.edu to your email address book.  Also check that your lagunita.stanford.edu account isn't tied to one of your other email addresses (if you don't list the exact email that you used to register for your account in the Reset Password window, then you won't receive an email).
